Snatch balance is a great tool to practice stability at the bottom of the snatch.

We practiced snatch balance last week. It's trickier than it looks.

Don't be fooled. Snatch balance is a tough technique to perfect, and it's tougher the more you load.

  • Step #1: quick jump
  • Step #2: extend the arms as you are squatting down as fast as you can muster
  • Step #3: catch the bar with locked out arms at the bottom of the movement 
  • Step #4: show control by maintaining balance at the bottom
